“HUGE shout out to Shelby Owens and the crew at 6808 in Belton.
A gigantic grass fire erupted on both sides of I-14 in Belton yesterday [7/28]. Numerous firefighting aircraft from Ft. Hood were called in to help to contain it. The dry conditions, combined with high winds were perfect conditions to spark a massive wildfire near Budget Wrench a Part in Belton. Facebook videos show just how bad the fire was and how it really destroyed much of the business. Friends who live nearby talked about hearing explosions from the lot.
I cannot imagine the feeling that the owners and employees had upon returning today to find much of their business destroyed. Just when spirits were at their lowest, Shelby and the folks at 6808 showed up with lunch.
