Cash Handling Procedures For The MIC
It is important to ensure that as the MIC, you are doing everything you can to keep your store's money safe and accounted for. By following these procedures, you will cut out the majority of instances in which money could disappear.
- Always keep the Till and Safe locked and the store till Keys secure.
- Do not allow anyone else (regardless of their position in the store) to handle money either from customers or drivers being checked out while it is your shift.
- If closing- have a witness sign off on the receipt tape the amount of money going into the safe at the end of the night.
- ALWAYS have a witness escort you to bank deposits. If you are no eligible to drive for MAC Pizza, ensure that two eligible TMs follow each other to the bank.
- Have a witness to the amount going into the bank deposit bag, and have them watch you seal the bag.
- ALWAYS do a till count, with a witness, at the beginning of your shift to ensure you are starting with the correct amount of money.
- Double count all driver check out money
- Make several deposits each day if necessary to ensure there is less than $1000 in the store.
- IMMEDIATELY void any orders that are cancelled or returned.
- Never allow more than $150 to be in the front till.
