Interview Questions
Asking the Right Questions the Right Way
What to Say VS. What not to Say
As the employer, we have to be very careful about the wording of our interview questions. Click through for some example questions to ask, or avoid asking.
Phone Screening Interviews
You may decide to screen candidates via phone interview prior to scheduling a face-to-face interview. Here are some things you might ask during that call:
- "If we were to extend a job offer, what would your availability look like?"
- "At our franchise we have strict image standards regarding offensive tattoos and false nails- do you currently have either of these?"
- "We will be running a background check- will you be alright with this?"
FOR DRIVERS ONLY: It is okay to let the candidate know they are not eligible to drive if they do not meet our requirements. Ask them if they are interested in an in-store position.
- "Have you had your license for two years and is it current?"
- "Do you have current motor vehicle insurance with your name listed on the policy?"
- "Have you had more than 2 moving violations or more than one auto accident in the past two years?"
- "Have you been convicted of a DUI/DWI in the past 3 years?"
